Sonoma County’s not all about wine, you know. There’s much more to it than that! The gently rolling hills of the Coastal Mountain Range invite you to explore; Acres of grape plantations that stretch as far as the eye can see to enchant throughout the seasons; Hot springs and mud baths for luxurious weekends; Parks and historical sites to explore; |
Charming towns and villages to meander;
Beautiful mustard covering the fields in the Spring;
The reds, yellows, and russets of Autumn leaves;
Breath-taking coastline, river drives, and ocean views; these are the things that Sonoma is made of as well! If you want to get to know Sonoma well, you need to see it all.
What’s quieter and sleepier than Sonoma? Try a drive up through Glen Ellen!
It’s a charming, sleepy little village with lots to offer, and it leads to other adventures, like Jack London State Historic Park where the famous author lived with his beloved wife, Charmian, penned many of his books, and built his dream house, only to have it burn to the ground during construction.
Follow our Russian River Drive to enjoy an absolutely beautiful juant and to discover Guerneville (pronounced Gurnville, not Gurneyville), Monte Rio, and Jenner – places you won’t want to miss!
Take our Russian River Drive a step further and make a loop back to Sonoma. You’ll be traveling along the Pacific coastline with it’s dramatic views (and stops along the way for whale watching), then inland through Sebastopol, Santa Rosa (dinner might be in order by the time you reach Santa Rosa), and back to Sonoma Plaza!
And be sure to check back often, as I’ll be adding more Sonoma Sunday drives you can do in one day from Sonoma. There’s so much to explore!
