From My Youth: Burney Falls

I live in France now, but I'm originally from Redding. When I was un petit garçon my dad used to take me to Burney Falls for picnics. I remember it as being extraordinarily beautiful! I would love to hear that it hasn't been ruined by the passage of time.

Wow - I can't believe the number of people from all over the world who are reading my website - thank you so much!

Indeed, McArthur-Burney Falls State Park is as beautiful and relatively isolated as ever.

Water still rumbles over the falls and into the deep pool below, and black swifts still nest behind the falls, exhibiting their restless and erratic bat-like flight from Spring through Fall.

Come back for a visit if you can. You won't be disappointed!
